"If you ask me, Go abroad, study. What we are lacking and where did we go wrong anedhi artham chesko. Come back and help others understand."
A character in Dollar Dreams utters this dialogue as a message of the movie.
"Today's life style is mostly dictated by society. We need more people coming up with middle class themes in our films"
From one of your interviews to Andhra Prabha after Dollar dreams won national award, when you first time announced the title Anand in 2001.
Sekhar, you are my hero for your personality, for your love for simple things and the way you made your career move. The reason I brought up the above two lines is, I've a not for profit request to you. You say that your ability to narrate stories so well, comes just like that to you. You are not sure if it is your talent or god's gift. Well, I believe it is your innate talent honed at Howard for 3 years during your MFA program. My proposition is, there are thousands of people in AP with similar innate talent but who cannot afford a Howard education. A number of them cannot even afford if a Howard kind of MFA is availlable in Hyderabad. America is not even worth a dream for these people.
All these pople have terrific loglines and try to stich few scenes around the idea and one in a thousand make it to the film nagar. Even if the film is made and released and becomes a success they fail to recreate the magic again when it comes to the 2nd film.
The reason as you might know is, these people do not know the science of screenwriting.
They don't understand what a conflict is, what stakes are in a plot? They can't dance with the subplots like you do. They have no clue how to keep the ACT II tight in a plot. If you have understood what we are lacking, you can help people like these.
Eduguru anamakulni 45 days lo awesome actors ga theerchagaligina meeru, ilanti talented story writers ni couple of sessions tho, vajrallanti screenwriters la thayaru cheyyagalaru. Meeru mathrame cheyyagalaru. Because we have no one in the industry who took up screenwriting as a science of study and mastered it from one of the reputed schools in the world. This is a not for profit request from me because, I may not be able to attend it even if you decide to take this up. This is for a number of film maker wannabes in interior AP who pay 10-15 rupees an hour at a cyber cafe to come and read your interviews in websites for your words of wisdom and who get motivated by them.
I wish I succeeded in conveying what I envision. Meeru Screenwriting workshops conduct chesthe, mee chethullo thayarayina screewnriter, year ki okkaru vachinaa industry lo manchi cinema majority loki thvaralone vachesthundi. I am sure people trained by you come up with more normal life themes that inspire more producers to make more number of good movies. Meeru, exactly idhe kakapoyina, ilanti intention tho aggressive ga edho oka daaniki sree karam chuttalani aasisthu, telugu cinema lo inka entho mandi Shekharulu ravalani aakankshinche kotladi prekshakullo okaruga
