Vijayanirmala who appears in the role of Lord Srikrishna in a song and couple of scenes recollects her memories for the Telugucinema.com says that this was her third film and first in telugu. (She did couple of Tamil films as child artist before this film, seeing that films N.T.R called her to do a screen-test for the role of Lord Srikrishna) N.T.R himself made her make-up for the film. After she is selected for the role, she practiced 15 whole days for the song scene.
The person who appears in the duel role in the film is Chayadevi. She did two roles in the film one is Suramma and another is the role Yasoda in the song Hey krishna mukunda murari.
NTR's two other films are released on the same month. Sarangadhara (Nov 1st 1957) and Kutumba gauravam (7th Nov 1957), but that didn't affect this film; Panduranga mahatyam became one of the big hits for NTR, Kamalakara Kameshwara Rao.
Songs like jaya kRshNaa mukuMdaa muraaree, ammaa yani arachinaa aalakiMchavEmammaa, hara hara hara SambhO SambhO etc are all time hits. The film assistant music director Josef later did music for N.A.T's Gulebakavali Katha. Though Nagaiayya sings his own songs his name does not appear in the list of singers in the film.
Another plus point of the film is Tota's Art and Rehman's camera. They did a wonderful job for the film. Each detail is taken care so well.
