America Ammayi was one of the best movies of 1976. The film launched the career of G. Anand, The only film a French artiste acted in the title role and even won PadmaSree last year.

One more excellent article from Sri & TeluguCinema.

Trivia and details about what each of the people, that were associated with this film, are currently doing is making your retrospective articles much more interesting to read and to look forward to. Your research and hard work is evident in every one of them.

Keep up the good work.

I really like these articles. The segment that I like most is what they are doing today. It is always nice to know the whereabouts of some legends who worked so hard in the movie world when the going was so tough. It is so touching to know about these artistes who struggled a lot to make a contribution to the films we watch. Compare that with the new trend where almost all the heroes we have are relatives of some guy and who got a breakthrough right away. Nice to know about Anand and his story. The line that said we have our own 'America Ammayi' really gave me nostalgia as we who are living abroad can relate to our own situation.

Keep such good articles coming. I loved all of them in your series.

We have very few books on Telugu Film History. May be you should come out with a Book on all these classical movies like America Ammai, Muthayala muggu etc. Future generations can get maximum benefit out of them

Prakash garu..I too was thinking the same. Sri Atluri is a virtual encyclopedia on the 'golden age of telugu cinema'. But unfortunately..it is only our generation (who witnessed it) will be the readers. The present generation is a culture shock to us.
