Summary:
Marudhuri Raja's directorial venture is about a retired school teacher who takes on the political goons with the help of prisoners that just stepped out of a life sentence. For a small budget movie with no big names, this is a clean effort (that still got a CBFC rating of 'A'!) against certain non-controversial (not aimed at any particular political party and/or movement) aspects of the contemporary political scenario of the country, and particularly the State. The movie may seem good only for people who like such low-budget efforts and/or political movies.
What's it about?
A school teacher (Vijayachandar) builds a house in Madhapur, Hyderabad, after his retirement, and lives there with his lecturer son and daughter-in-law (Surya & Sangeetha), his grandson (Uttej) and grand-daughter. Durganna (Dr. Sivaprasad) and his gang eyes the land and wishes to own the house so that they can build apartments in that plot and make money. In the process of scaring the family away, the grand daughter is raped, the grandson ends up as an ICU patient, and the grand daughter's boyfriend (Dhanush) is killed! The family gets temporary relief when an advocate (Brahmanandam) and his assistant (Venumadhav) help them through the hearing the court, but the family eventually resigns to leave the house receiving a mere 15 lakh rupees for leaving their new house and plot. In order to seek revenge on the land mafia and the political drama therein, the retired school teacher approaches three prisoners (Brahmaji, Raghubabu, Jeeva) that just come out of a life sentence for a murder. The rest of the film revolves around the planned murders of all the goons involved and comes to an end through a thought-provoking speech by the old man in the Legislative Assembly.
