What's it about!

Krishna (Vamsi Krishna) and his buddy Swathi get job in a Call Centre office. While Swathi doesn’t lose her moral values, Krishna lands in vices. He is addicted to the pub culture, alcohol and romancing the girls. He starts believing that is real life. Where as Swathi tries to make him good but fails. In the end Krishna realsises his mistakes and finds Swathi is his right person for him.

Analysis

Director Kanmani is shot to fame with his first film – Naa Oopiri that won rave reviews and awards. Later he made a dud with Sumanth ( Chinnodu). Now he comes up Call Center The movie is all about Call Centre executives and their lifestyle. He has tried to show how village rural youth easily attracted to the flashy urban lifestyle and spoil their lives. Good message but the narration is so passive. Instead of representing the culture, the director projects the call centre executives as moral-less persons. The movie dwells more on ‘the pleasure’ that call centre executives enjoying it and degrades the professionals. It is so cheap and demeaning. Full of lewd dialogues and obscene acts.

First half of the movie is okay with more emphasis is on ‘fun’ part of the youngster. Post the interval it takes u turn and in the end a hackneyed message is told. How silly (it is almost akin to Malaylam C-grade movie).

Performances

Vamsi Krishna who acted in Happy Days plays lead role in the movie. He is good in his role. Veteran actor Kota comes in a brief role. Actress Pooja, Soumya,  Priyanka and others are just showpieces and have provided 'sex quotient'. Anand (of Photo fame) is okay. There is not much to write about other actors. Cinematography is neat. The best part of the film is its music. Sai Karthik has come up with some good tunes. "Kannulu Kalipistere.." is the best of the lot. Director Kanmani fails big time again. Whatever the name he has earned with his first movie vanishes with this.

Bottom-line

Director Kanmani tested the patience of the audiences in Chinnodu. Call Center is no exception. Message is okay but the script is cheap and full of sex. And execution is so boring. Better avoid.
