At the audio launch of
Badrinath, Chiranjeevi said that he would soon become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh if fans support him. He also clearly stated that he’s ‘plans in mind’ to achieve it. This created furor among political circles especially in ruling Congress Party. Some Congress leaders already criticized him as ‘power monger’.
Talking to reporters on Sunday in Vizag, Chiranjeevi said that he didn’t give such statement. “When fans were shouting, I thought they are asking me to return to films, so I said I have plans. But media twisted my statements. I didn’t know they (fans) were shouting to become Chief Minister. I only spoke about my acting plans,” Chiranjeevi said.
Badrinath audio was launched at Shilpa Kala Vedika on Saturday (May 7, 2011) evening. Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan graced the event.
