What's it about!

It is about how two lovers unite their warring families. Typical family drama. Bhavani Shankar (Mukesh Rushi) and Narasimha (Jaya Prakash Reddy) wage war against each other but their offspring Ram (Kalyanram Nandamuri), son of Bhavani Shankar and Anjali (Hansika), daughter of Narasinha, fall in love. They decide to unite their families and also make their love success.

Analysis

Unlike Kalyan Ram’s earlier movies, Jayaheebhava focuses on comedians rather than the hero. Looks like Kalyan Ram is very desperate to woo all sections of audiences. So in order to appease family audiences, the film treads very familiar family drama. Script is so dated and narration is also pretty ordinary except some comedy scenes. It is only towards the climax, the film picks up some momentum and holds the audiences. Second half is its strength, rest is sheer waste of time.

Performances

In his attempt to reach all the audiences and come out from mass hero mould, Kalyan Ram tries to his best in this film as a suave guy. He looks good and comfortable in the comedy scenes. But he needs to go long way in perfecting comic acting. Hansika as glam girl is attractive but she doesn’t much role to do. As said earlier, comedians are given major importance in the film and Raghubabu's comedy is enjoyable. He steals the show Ali and Brahmanadam’s presence.

New director Naren shows his strength in second half but he fails to make the viewers glued to the screen before the interval. Music director Taman once again provides bland numbers. Cinematography by Dasaradhi Sivendra, dialogues by Ravi, and artwork is okay.

Bottom-line!

It is just an attempt to put old wine in new bottle. Except for scenes towards climax, and Raghu Babu’s comedy, the film lacks punch.

Rating: 2.75/5
