Good story went badly directed.

heroine is good in acting than lookswise.

hero is good only in the last minute of talking abt disco, and worst in every thing like dances,action,fights.

Direction is very bad.

i can say it is an below avg to avg movie.

chtta music... leka pothe nagarjuna fans ki festival. good action and future for nagachaitanya all the best... BGM score from thamanss is very bad.. kick that fellow out of andhra. to orissa...

dilraju, remove him from brindavanam.. vaadi leg sariledhu... keep chakri...or sandeepchowta....

First Of All Please Think Before Writing Jeevi Review.Movie Is Very Good.There is Very Good Message.Chaitu Performance Very Good .Josh Will Be A Super Hit Movie There is No Doubt About It.

Did any of u watch this movie or listen to music? This movie may not be memorable but at least you will enjoy the movie for the duration. First half is average and second half is good. Heroin looks are minus for the movie although she is good with acting.

Forget that it's Nagarjuna's son debut movie and watch it like any other Dil Raju's movie, you will get your money worth.

I Have seen this movie. I do not know why some are making biased comments. The movie is very decent. Chaitanya is very handsome and potrayed his role with lot of ease. Chaitanya is very promising. The only minus point in this movie is heroin. Music is very good. The best debut movie and chaitu has already won the hearts of family audience and youth.

If we forget that it's Nagarjuna's son then who my foot is going to watch that ugly guy?

Do you think even Dil Raju would have produced a movie with this guy as hero?

I would have watched the movie just for music and Dil Raju tag, may be not first day.

Movies work based on content of the movies..not because of stars. Think about movies like 'Vinayakudu', 'Aithe','Anand' etc.

I just watched this movie. I just cant understand why these reviewers give very unfair reviews.

From my point of view,

This movie is a very good attempt by director.

He did a decent job in the script and dialogues.

Nag Chitanya is very good looking and has a rocky screen presense. I think he will come next to mahesh babu interms of screen presense in the current young lot( charan(ugly), allu arjun(ugliest), Jr.NTR(OK), Pawan(good looking) etc)

He performance is lot better than Charan with out any question. Charan hasn't anything worthy in terms of performance(even in Magadheera, his dialogue delivery is very short and not clear).

I think this is the best debut hero performance I have ever seen in Telugu cinema history. He needs a big applause for his performance in the speech scene and hospital scene. It's mind blowing.

He has extreme ease in fights and good in dances. Dance is the only thing Charan has advantage over Chaitu but Chatu definitely is not lagging too behind.

Heroine's performance is good and impressive.

Very best debut performance by nag chaitanya ... and karthika is OK and will do her best in her next movie. Both of them will have a bright future. Nice story and dealt in a very rhythmic way. Undoubtedly chaitanya is the best debutant hero in this decade. It needs lot of guts and acting talent to do this movie. Though Raju has made 9 films so far he has praised only two heros siddatha and Nag Chaitanya. Really the secene is superb. He has already scored over his contemporaries.

I don't at all know what audience and esp. reviewers want !!! Is there a hidden rule which says every debut film of a star's son should have the "supposedly commercial elements". In fact that is where this film stands out from the debut films of other hero's sons/nephews.

First thing to mention about the film is the dialogues of the film. There are some really well-written dialogues, to mention few, 1. speaking to the youth leader Chakri, he says, "Naa mundu paita chaarchaku" comparing him to a prostitute. 2. "Naaku message eche alavaatu leedu, edaina eccha anukunte parleedu theesuko" after hitting a student to ground.

The direction is gud. Right from the first half-an-hour one knows that the director is trying to mimick shiva but thats where the suspense his. You dunno how is he going to blend the elements of shiva to suit this script. You feel a bit odd when the boyish faced chaitanya is given hype but slowly as the character is elevated you get the feel and you are with him as you leave the theater. The first scene I felt brilliant directed in the movie is the police station scene. In that scene, chaitanya complains against the students involved in riot and when chakri comes to release them, he doesnt even care to see his face while sitting in a chair, when chakri asks "nuvvevadu raa, enti ra nee badha", he replies "nuvvevudu ra". I feel that is the best scene of the film.
Another noteworthy aspect is the fights. The fights got worser in the film. They were realistic in first-half only to get worse in the second-half.

But there are negative points to the film too. The second half doesn't live up to the expectations. The flashback episode was dragged a bit. It should have been shown a bit more powerful. The hero character was shown in the beginning as powerful as shiva's but at a point he dances teasing the student leaders which looks comical.

Sandeep Chowtha usage of guitar for hero's background is powerful. Karthika is worst.

Finally, my rating : 3.25

Another hilarious dialogue from the film is brammi's dialogue in reference to Chakri, "Sir, baaga kaaluthunna katteni (stick) kindi nunchi pettina navvuthu vellevaade saar raajakeeyanaakudante". Brammi's sudden variations when he utters the two phrases, "kinda nunchi pettina" and "navvuthu vellevaadu" are hilarious.

Satya (Naga Chaitanya) a youth from Vizag reaches Hyderabad in search of job. He finds a small job in a college, but he is much bothered about the students going astray by becoming addicts to bad habits.
A student leader J Durga Rao (JD Chakravarthy) opposes the reformist-approach of the hero. Satya now becomes a student himself in the college to achieve his goal of changing the system. Nithya (Krithika) a school teacher comes to the aid of Satya. Naturally, they fall in love, akin in true Telugu film. How the hero accomplishes his task of reforming the students forms the rest of the story.

Naga Chaitanya shows no signs of nervousness in facing the camera and his onscreen presence is impressive. He has done justice to the expectations of the audience when it comes to the departments of stunts, dances and expressions. Karthika, has to improve a lot and she does not match the expectations of the audience. Moreover, savitha�s dubbing is very irritating. JD Chakravarthy as usual does a neat job in a negative role, while Sunil is good with his subtle comedy and Prakash Raj is at his best. Brahmanandam is routine. The performance others like Shreya Dhanwantari, the Miss Femina runner-up is just okay.

The movie scores well in cinematography department. Unfortunately, the debutant director Vasu Varma missed the much required focus on Naga Chaitanya, the blue-eyed son of Nagarjuna. He gave much importance to the script with a weak story line. The heroine too was provided with heavy makeup giving the treatment of a street-play. Another problem is with editing, which is poor at many stretches. The dialogues too are not impressive. The narration too suffered badly, making the audience feel the boredom. The comedy department was rendered weak with the episodes giving an artificial feel.

On the whole, Josh has a lot of resemblance to Shiva, a film that made Nagarjuna an overnight matinee idol in Andhra Pradesh. The first half is lighthearted and entertaining, while the latter half turns heavy. The movie can at best appeal to parents asking them not force their children to get ranks in examination.

The message is to students to build their future instead of wasting it on drugs and being irresponsible. The didactic element has completely spoiled the entertainment factor. Of course, the film might generate some heat among the youth, who might turn up at the theatres to have the first look at Naga Chaitanya.

Verdict: Disappointing

I agree that the direction of some of the shots is below average but the 2.75 rating given to the movie is very bad. Not sure on what factors the author has given that rating..There are chetta cinemas that are given 2.75 rating and this movie is much better than all those. This movie deserves a minimum of 3 to 3.25
On the whole when i was watching the movie, i did not feel bored at any point of time and Naga Chaitanya was improving from every shot to the next and in the second half he has shown what he is worth of...First half was good and second one is very good i would say..
Kudos to him to pick such a subject in his first movie and the risk factors that comes with that but on the whole he is pulled it in a very good fashion..

If there is a item song or if the heroine would show some skin you guys will give a better rating???????

Try to appreciate the hard work that is put in and the performance of the actors.
Try to be a judge of yourself rathar than depending on some others views of the cinema.

I have seen the movie and it is in par with excellent movies...

For a first movie for a debut hero..he is excellent. he is surely got talent and he has shown that in all aspects of the movie..

My friends were saying that the first half is little bit slow but i would not agree with them..this is a story oriented film and according to the story, hero was behaving like that in an off mood but as the story goes on he was performing accordingly..

Second half was excellent and the dialogue delivery at two instances was awesome. He was so meticulous in delivering them and for one minute i could not beleive, that ..is he a hero that is doing his first movie...

On the whole the movie just passed by without even knowing the time of 3 hrs span...
It is a Youth and family oriented film without any filthy item number songs that you see in every movie and i would like to comment on the dressing sense in the whole movie of all the characters are very good..no vulgar scenes at all. Songs picturization are also good, fight scenes are good..
There is nothing bad in the movie that i can think of..

Ever since the film �Josh� hit the marquee, many have been comparing it with the mega blockbuster �Magadheera�. Some even felt that �Josh� would give a tough competition to �Magadheera� in many aspects. But the result is out after its release. It has no muscle to compete or compare with Magadheera. However, Nag fans seem to think otherwise about the whole issue.

It seems they are urging that �Josh� happens to be the debut film of Naga Chaitanya and so it would make more sense in comparing the film with �Chirutha� which was the debut film of mega powerstar Ramcharan Teja. �Magadheera� is the second one from Charan, they add.

But still, the trade pundits say that Josh has no comparison with Chirutha as well, as it hasn�t possessed required voltage to suit the targeted youth audience. Message proved as massage on the heads of many youngsters, say some.

we are talking here about nag chaitanya. not nag.

FYI, Magadhara was a hit becaz of rajmouli direction, intersting plot, graphics and keeravani music. This has nothing to do with charan's performance.

Only thing charan contributed is in dance and fights. In terms of performance, he always stood out as the worst in dialogue delivery and expressions.

Naga chaitanya is leaps ahead of charan in terms of performance. He has the guts to do a lenghthy speech scene and audience clapped after the scene. This applause is just for Chaitu's performance. Nothing to do with direction, graphics, speciual effects or anything.

All the dialogues charan had were very small dialogues in magadhira and he even messed up those in "ucchharana" .

Magadhira is out and out Rajamaouli's success and everybody knows that.

Before you even start commenting on dialouge delievery and all other aspects of magadheera correct your spelling mistakes and then you can talk about the movie,you cant type few sentences without spelling mistakes and you are commenting on 2 years of hardwork of the entire magadheera unit.

he is not impressive in his dialogue delivery, he need to improve more clarity and telugu 'uchharana' . This is not just my opinion. Mostly of my friends including chiru fans accept this.

Another, thing he never tried anything more complicated. All the dialogues he had were very short and simple and he is not impressive in that also.

I might not be a director or an expert to say this but as a common audience we wont get the pulse and excitement when charan utters his dialogues.

Surprisingly in Josh, after the dialogue by Nag Cahaitanya in the speech scene, I got so excited and involutarily started clapping. If you haven't watched Josh, watch it and you will know what I am saying.

I got the same feel when I watched Yama donga where Jr. NTR utters dialogues to Mohan Babu in yama lokam. Thats the kind of talent I am looking for.

Charan needs to improve a lot in that aspet. And also, one unanimous talk about Charan is its hard to accept him as a hero as he looks very ugly and more like a villian character. In magadheera, the villian looks more good looking than the hero.....

Regarding looks, no body who is ugly at 21 will suddenly look good at 30.Its a big myth. Basic features will always be the same. may be a lean guy might look liitle better when he gets some fat or vice versa but no the features.

Same thing with nag. he was too lean like a patient initially but started looking better when he got healthy and a little extra pounds.

Unfortunately, charan's problem is his features, shape of his face which has got to do with this bone structure which will always be the same and he will remain ugly for ever!!!!!

nobody here is denying the fact that magadhira is a hit!! Its a good attmept by Rajamouli, graphics and art team. This is the best ever in the history of telugu cinema interms of graphics and technical brilliance. Nobody is denying that!!!

Apparently, �Magadheera� is said to be on its way to cross the Rs 65 crores mark in collections and this would make it the first film in south India to come up with such huge numbers. Also, the film will then stand next to the Bollywood blockbuster �Ghajini� in terms of the largest collections ever made.

The Naizam area stands first with its contribution followed by Ceded area and there has been a good collection from Karnataka and US as well for this movie. All this has happened in just the first five weeks and only time will tell what more records this blockbuster will break.

If we its a normal social movie like pokiri where hero has to deliver some pwerful dialogues, we can give good credit to hero.

There are hardly any powerful dialogues in Magadheera...nothing much to emote for the hero.. all he has to do is some physical stunts and dnaces...

Nuvvu chala kastapadi ento goppa analysis raasavu. But the bottom line is Josh is a flop movie and NC is a writeoff as an ACTOR.

But that doesn't mean that he won't become a HERO. Because he has money and influence, his dad continues to produce movies until NC brings down the standards of telugu industry to his level and people would start accepting him as hero (mostly due to lack of choice).

That's exactly what Nagarjuna and Venkatesh did few years ago and NC is going to repeat the same formula.

sh� the much hyped film has at last seen bitterness. Although Dil Raju is promoting the movie fully, only top three rows are filled in many theaters leaving the rest vacant in many centers. That is Nagarjuna�s son Naga Chaitanya�s debut. And the female lead was carried on by Kartika, the daughter if yester years� beautiful diva Radha. But what could be the reason for failure?

on the other hand Naga Chaitanya has got no expected applause with this film. Although the first two days were gone with the shadow of Nagarjuna behind, the audiences watching the movie in subsequent days are understanding and analyzing the skills of this young hero, coming out from the impression that he is Nagarjuna�s son. Many audience say that Naga Chaitanya has to improve a lot and wondered what he has learned in Bombay Acting schools staying in the house of Tabu (as per the interviews and stories published in print media).

On a whole, Josh is a big lesson for all film makers. One has to think contemporarily or else things end up as mishap.
