I have not watched Maga Dheera... But from previous work you can easily say he is the new age Ragavendra Rao ....

See how smart Raja mouli, VV Vinayak, Puri Jaganath and Srinu Vytla look. The above young heroes are shining only with story and direction values not even 1% of their face values. Only Tamil heroes like Surrya, Vikram and Vishal will save Telugu film Industry.

The Director cleverly used the action of ram charan tej and one minus is he lacks the ability to deliver the dialogue perfectly but this minus is negligible when considering the other mind blowing features of the film.
This is definitely enjoyable and mind blowing film.

The perfect hero for this movie is either Vikram or Vishal or even Villain Ajay or Prabhas. Poor Allu Aravind. If he has enough money probably he himself going to act as hero in movies like Sardar Paparayudu, Kondaveeti simham in the direction of KRR when he is youngster.

I am surprised at the levels of caste feeling shown by some people here. Just bcoz a person from another caste was able to deliver a hit movie, people are crapping in their pants!!

Another hilarious thing is that some people are trying to give credit only to the director. Why didn't they do that when movies like Yamadonga were released? After all, Jr. NTR is also short & ugly like Ram Charan. And even Nag's son is short & has a nose as big as his butt cheeks! What a bunch of losers & hypocrites!! So that means if the hero is a short, ugly kamma, credit should go to him & if the hero is a short, ugly kapu, the credit should go exclusively to the director?? Yuk!! arundathi is a master piece in tollywood

Give credit to Charan when deserved. Even I am still question marking his entrance and those of all star sons. But his weaknesses(physical) were overpowered by his talents in this film.

I give more credit to all actors that dub for themselves. Of course, Kajal is a beautiful girl. But 1/2 the credit in acting dies when voice is someone elses.

I hope to catch this on bigscreen. But probably not possible. Too bad.

Rajamouli, thinks grand. But very little beyond grandness can be attributed to him. I think the technicians he works with, overpower his weak direction at times.

If you check out all his films, you can see that 90% is weak in direction, but all other angles add to the commerciality appeal.

See the movie for the hardwork the entire unit had done for two years, there hardwork is visible in each and every frame of the movie and every rupee spent on the movie is visible on the screen.

And coming to the movie in my view it is not a great movie but one of the good movies in telugu cinema in the recent years. the technical values are superb and it is a visual grandeur.

Nagarjuna, The Legend After NTR-ANR Era


There was a time when Akkineni Nagarjuna was considered part of the big four- Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh and himself. But now, it looks like he is taking a step ahead of them and soon he will be joining the league of legends in the Telugu cinema after NTR and ANR.

Apparently, Nag has come up with some diverse blockbuster movies like Annamayya, Sri Ramdasu, Shiva and Geetanjali and has shown his mettle as a historical character, a rough rugged character and a soft but mischievous romantic character.

This is something that no other actor has achieved so far and many say that Nag would also be branded into that league of NTR and ANR after a while. Given his suave and sophisticated approach, it might look a bit different but then this seems to be the truth.

This is the only movie after Arundhati that got universally rave reviews. It should really be good. Looking forward to watch it here in Dallas. But I am a little surprised by the hero's name (in his first birth) given in this review. Is it really Kala Bhairava? I think Kala Bhairava is the name of Lord Shiva's dog in Indian mythology and so quite unsuitable for the hero's name. Is there any reason or justification in the movie for that name?

Ram Charan's acting got really improved, credit goes to Raj, but same time no -ves in his side. We need to appreciate his effort to do 2nd movie with historical back ground and he did with very easy. The sword fight is the best example. Even big heroes also will spoil that but he did great body movements as well as super action like hollywood. I expect next Rajmouli's movie will be JR NTR Dhuryodhana role would be super, he is only one can do and karna role would be Ram Charan.

After creating great hype in the media and masses, the most awaited movie of the year, Magadheera released with a bang at the box office. However, did the movie lived up to the expectations? Well sorry guys the movie is just a let down. Weak script and bad music cost the movie badly. Except for the fight sequence in the second half where Kalabhairava (Ram Charan) kills hundred soldiers before sacrificing himself there is nothing much to offer in the movie.

S.S. Rajamouli, the biggest commercial brand, always set its own standards in the film making. Ever since his first film, Student No.1, he always did a great amount of homework on script before going on sets. However, as the time passed, Rajamouli seems to have lost his grip on the script. This is a bad sign. He is known for excellent hero characterization, but lately he is failing to reproduce the same standards he has set for himself.

First half of the movie doesnt offer you anything, rather one should say it irritates you. This kind of a movie requires good entertainment in the first half with some good quality humour. However, the director seems to have concentrated more on 400 years backdrop in the second half and totally neglected first half. I will talk about even the second half later but the whole episode of lead pairs falling in love looks very silly all the way. Sparks produced on the finger touch between the lead pairs is just stupid and nonsense. There is no novelty in the love story at all. Dev Gil's character in the first half is not established well. Director should have given more attention to his character as it will set the tone for later confrantation with the hero's character. However, Rajamouli missed the boat completely in the first half. The less we talk about the comedians the better in the first half.

Now, with the hype created from the reviewers to the the movie makers, we are taken in to the second half, which starts with a flash back going as far as 1609. Here the hero's character is introduced as the sole protector of the kingdom with a weak king and a coward princess. Here one feels the dilemna the director is in, as the hero is neither shown as a great lover nor a powerful warrior. When the King knows that his kingdom is in threat from an invader, Sher Khan (Srihari), one doesnt understand why at all he has allowed a competition to be held between hero and the villian for a silly episode. Also here I should mention that princess is potrayed very weak. No princess will be weak at heart when she is regarded as the successor to the king. She seemed least bothered about the threat to the kingdom and only showed a mere selfish attraction towards the hero which makes no sense to me. Its high time for Rajamouli to concentrate also on heroine's character in his films. He seems to be using heroine just for glamour in the songs and nothing else. Women are not so weak as he protrays in his films.

And the so called protector of the kingdom, had no idea when the king was attacked. Utter nonsense!!! I would rather liked to have a more established hero's character in the second half showcasing the depth of his character with beautifully laid love shades. I would definetly recommend one and half hours of running time dedicated to the flash back episode alone to make the actual SOAL AND STRENGTH of the movie.

With this the whole fight sequence of killing hundred warriors lost its vigor and importance becuase it is not backed by strong reasoning and lead scenes. But one should glad Sher Khan's role here because it is his role which elevated the scene. Srihari did well with his part here. I would have liked the fight sequence in the actual war field where may be the Billa's character deceives the King and the hero at the peak time leading to the death of the King. But it is not the case. The audience will get a complete experience with the pathetic climax sequence.

On the whole, Magadheera is a big disappointment with a very very weak script and bad music. Watchable atmost once for the hype created and for the grand scale the movie is produced with. Else it would have been an avoidable one.


Last but not the least, dont even compare this movie with Arundhati for the resemblances it has with it. Magadheera can never match Arundhati with the content and presentation.

I think you hadnt watched the movie properly.

You are talking something nonsense about second half. I didnt understand how being a big film lover you cant understand the flash back properly.

1)the first question you had raised "he has allowed a competition to be held between hero and the villian " and the princess is potrayed weak.
Here the villain first asks the people who will be the succedor of kingdom, then the priest will say that princess will bethe succeedor. then villain proves that she is weak and she couldnt save the kingdom from sher khan, then the competion is held to select the next king who can save the kingdom.

2)No princess will be weak at heart when she is regarded as the successor to the king.
yes thats true, but that also varies from person to person you may be strong but others may be weak, inorder to make a story some thing should be there. We know in the history how many kings are weak.

3)She seemed least bothered about the threat to the kingdom and only showed a mere selfish attraction towards the hero which makes no sense to me.
Selfishness is the major quality of every human being, for that you are me cant do anything, you had written your review in your own opinion that may be your selfishness and I am replying to you that might be my selfishness keeping aside all the problems in the society we are talking here about movies and criticizing them which is our selfishness.

the reason for this fight sequence is clearly explained. Sher khan wants to conquer the kingdom and grab it, in the starting itself mansingh explains the character of kala bhairava that these people are great warriors and they wont die before killing atleast 100 people and they are saviours of the kingdom. Before the fight there is a dialogue told by sher khan that he will prove wrong what mansingh had explained him.

5)king is weak
here the king is not shown as weak but old.

6) Magadheera is a big disappointment with a very very weak script and bad music.
Yes I do agree that script is weak but not very very weak as mentioned by you, if you talk about script which movie has got good script these days.

If you want I can explain what are the flaws, but I dont want to criticize unnecessarily because of the technical values they had maintained and the hard work they had done.

Here you may think I am a fan of chiranjeevi thats why i had reacted but not I am a neutral fan and I would love to watch evry heroes movies on the first day itself among with the fans.

Finally I would like to tell you only one thing dont write reviews without understanding the movie properly and dont write in your own illusions.

Please dont take anything I had written in negative sense, I had reacted because these kind of movies will make us fell proud infront of other language movies. Yes I do agree that there are flaws, but they are acceptable. Here I am not talking about the script but I am talking about the technical values and grandeur that they had maintained in the movie which are far more superior that any other Indian movie.

I have been to the theatre without any expectations cuz many of the top-star films have been a huge let-down to me in the last 2 years. So I discarded the hype as a publicity stunt.

The film opens with a scene set in 1600s and an almost-dead heroine utters few words falling of the edge of a moutain. A wounded-hero, jumps next, not to save her, but to die with her. The background is just brilliant in this scene. If you are involved then it gives you goose-bumps. I have liked this opening scene so much that I've download it from the net (ya its available :O) and am carrying it in my mob :)

Then the movie returns to 21st century which depicts ram charan as a racer. The bike scenes involving graphics are mediocre and are mainly targeted at the masses. Then the first half continues aimlessly for an hour or so. Ram charan gets to do a few comedy scenes. He is ok , he could have been better. Esp. he has to change his body language. He should take some professional-acting classes. Oh, I forgot to mention abt the bangaru kodipetta song. His dance is exceptional.

Raavu Ramesh as Aghora has not much to deliver. I dunno why every1 hyped the character so much. The new-villain is ok. Sonu Sood would have best suited the role. Kajal is good in the first half and sizzles a bit here and there.

I do not accept with Jeevi/JP's opinions on songs. None of the songs from the first half leave an impression on you. Its usually difficult to compose music for socio-fantasies cuz the movie is set in different eras thereby lacking consistency (in instruments used).

Coming to the second half, I feel that it should have been bit longer. The Udaigarh set is brilliant, I thot it was actually shot in Udaigarh until I read telugucinema review. Ram Charan as Kala Bhairava did 100% justice to the role. He has the sharp looks of the warriors we have read in stories as kids. The horse race which goes unmentioned in idlebrain is just brilliant. The camera work in that scene was top-notch. Heroes riding for themselves gives you the hollywud experience :) Hats-off to ram charan. Takkari donga comes no where :P (ofcourse mahesh is a better/best actor)

The scene on the mountain-top where Srihari's army pour-in the arrows was copied from the "300" but had left lil effect on me. The fight should have been shown better rather than focussing on the warriors falling/dying off the moutain.

The background score is outstanding.

I need more clarifications on Magadheera

1.Here the villain first asks the people who will be the succedor of kingdom, then the priest will say that princess will bethe succeedor.
How can every Tom dick and harry can challenge a king in front of people by insulting queen. He will be dead in the next moment to make sure no one else can think of such thing again.

2.We know in the history how many kings are weak.
I am not ready to see a weak king on the silver screen. Which cricket match would you like to see Australia & India or Australia & Ireland. As we all know so many cricket teams are weak.



3.Selfishness is the major quality of every human being.
This is not selfish. This is a place where u can share ideas for entertainment. This will also develop analytical thinking.
4. Before the fight there is a dialogue told by sher khan that he will prove wrong what mansingh had explained him.
Any king with minimum brain will not do something to prove his capabilities to his subordinate. Infact he need not have a person like Mansingh who dont have belief in their king. Absolutely illogical.

6.here the king is not shown as weak but old.
King is old and he spends time to listen to a person who misbehaves at queen. This is good enough to say king is weak.

7. Music is apt for a movie like this.
I will 100% agree with this. This movie dont deserve good music.

8.I can explain what are the flaws in Arundhati.

Ramcharan and Kajal A princess and her bodyguard fall in love. The king's relative wants to wed her and in a battle that ensues, they all die. Four hundred years later they are reborn and the trouble repeats but this time all's well that ends well. The film sounded thrilling right from it's inception because the hit song Bangaru Kodi Petta was being remade. The sight of Chiranjeevi albeit for a few minutes makes you crave for his return to the silver screen but the dialogue from him praising his son makes the scene look ridiculous. The mutual admiration society should be kept out of the script and not hinder the narrative.

The contemporary actors all work hard on their body, dance well but little do they realize that 'grace' is an inherent quality that cannot be acquired by imitation. When the hero in this film brushes his mouch twice in a song, you are pushed into a state of denial. Even the charm, style cannot be acquired. When Chiranjeevi did Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari after many commercial films, it was the right subject and was rightly timed. A fantasy, historical subject should be attempted by any actor after doing a few more films, gaining the confidence, physique and the look.

Magadheera is a premature film for Charan. Infact the first film Chirutha was far more convincing with lot of sincerity visible on screen. Here the reincarnation subject does provide a lot of scope for drama but making a one film old hero to something huge as this like expecting a crawling child to run a marathon. The pressure of performing has outweighed his emotions. Horse riding, dances, action scenes are all a part of films but the important aspect is one should be able to convey the feeling on the visage. For a movie that is well made technically the actual narration falls short of being hollow.

The producer has spent in epic proportions but it's criminal that some scenes are made to jump from point to point without any actual narrative pacing. The last fifteen minutes is illogical and Srihari is reduced to being a dummy and just a tiny catalyst to unite the pair. A hundred percent effort has not clearly been put in to recreate history. The jewellery that the princess wears looks like imitation pieces.

KajalThis film is a plus for Kajal or vice versa. She has shown marked improvement in her expressions, and has lot of potential to do well. Sharath Babu looks apt for his role and Rao Ramesh sinks into his role with ease. All the songs make a pleasant hearing. One can't look for entertainment in such films, but the inclusion of Brahmanandam, Suneel did not help the film any way.

A pat on the back for the technical team, Magadheera is just an okay film, good in parts but nothing extraordinary that will make you want to watch immediately. The film doesn't connect or make sparks fly, it is attached with a lot of hype as the hero is a mega star's son and it is being directed by Rajamouli who is on a hit spree. Really I felt very good after seeing the movie. We should feel proud to have such great Director in our TELUGU INDUSTRY. Really the choice of characters is tooo good. Especially the roll of Dev (Anti Hero... I am not not mentioned as villon because he is the HERO in this movie)is toooo good. I think with his great and matured action only the movie is playing successfully....

Chiranjeeva Sukheebhava! This is one of the most common things Telugu people utter when someone seeks their blessings. Movie was superb. I liked it from the beginning till the end except for climax chopper scene. Interval bang was superb.

Production values and technical aspects were excellent. Direction was extraordinary. Acting and action sequences were mind blowing. Music was on par with the movie - kodipetta, panchadhara and dheera were top notch. Overall this would be a movie compared against every other movie in future particularly collections.

Guys, Be proud to be andhraite after this movie. I always felt inferior before ppl from other states coming to movies. Movies like Pokkiri, Magadheera would elevate our stature in indian cinema.

Good to see that Magadheera broke the records of Pokiri. Dont fight over the collections. Being a true movie fan, always wish for new records - this would mean bettering ourselves - neither mahesh nor charan would give the money to the fans.
