Whats it about!

It is kind of Nagin flick. The movie starts with a fictional story that earth is on the verge of collapse in a few years and to save the world from brink, two Naga Devatas (snakes) plan to perform their dance at Lord Shiva. While they are at it the male snake (played by Aditya Om) is killed by smugglers to get mani. The female snake (Mumait Khan) now looks for vengeance and waits for chance to get a right body to get into human form. A police officers daughter (Mumait Khan) is smart and sexy and has tattooed body. It is believed that a girl with natural tattooed body has the power to bring another naga mani. So he becomes now the target of villains but a group of petty thieves (played by Rajeev Kanakala, Suhasini, etc) save her from an accident. While she is on hospital bed, the female snake enters into her body and the rest of the movie is how she takes revenge.

Analysis

History has proved that films with snake themes are potential blockbusters. Punnami Naagu too looked promising on the paper. But the mediocre screenplay (written by veteran writer Yandamuri Veerendranath) and outdated narrative style (by director Kodandaramireddy) has made the film pain to watch. Everything in the movie is so cheap and tasteless. Technically too it boasts nothing. With substandard graphics, poor production values, dull cinematography and silly comedy, the movie induces sheer boredom and pain.

Punnami Naagu is another sluggish film with Mumait Khan in the lead role.

Performances:

Mumait Khan does dual role for the first time in her career. In the role of free-spirited modern girl, she evokes sex appeal with her minimal wear. She appears in micro skirts, and tight dresses through out the movie. Even her bikini song (remix of Ragulutondi Mogali Poda from Khaidi) is hot and sizzling. As a snake woman, she is okay. Rajeev Kanakala has got chance of romancing with Mumait and as well as Suhaisini who doesnt know the sparsha of a man. As a lady villain, Nalini is good. Rest of the cast including Vinod Kumar is just okay. Music by S.A.Rajkumar is mediocre.

Bottom-line!

If you want to enjoy the exposing of Mumait Khan, better stay and watch the trailers and songs that are being telecast on channels. Except, some hot scenes by Mumait, nothing new in the movie is exciting. Punnami Naagu is big bore and mediocre movie.
