What�s it about

An idealistic journalist Chandrashekar (Ranganath) exposes Home Minister Bhagavan Raju�s (Saikumar) land grabbing activities through his newspaper Addam. Bhagavan Raju kills the journalist. Chandrashekar�s son Chandra (Jagapathi Babu) and his friends take up the cause and start conducting �sting operation� (hidden cameras) and start blackmailing the politician. They make him fulfill the promises that he has given to the public through this blackmail.

Analysis

Director Ravi C Kumar has chosen very contemporary theme. The elements like sting operation and land mafia can easily be identified with by the audiences. But Noble intentions don't necessarily turn into good cinema. That�s the major problem with Samanyudu. Though the director has good plot on his hands, he has not succeeded to tell it engrossing manner. It�s too serious at times. There�s hardly any entertainment despite some comedy track and the unnecessary romantic thread between Jagapathi Babu and Kamna.

Compared to Jagapathi Babu�s recent films, Samanyudu is an okay film and watchable for its honest intentions.

What�s hot?

It is a big relief to see Jagapathi Babu in simple looks. He looks handsome in the film. Sai Kumar appears as villain in the film. He has done good job. Dasari Arun Kumar, Archana, heroine Kamna are fitted well to their roles. Mumait Khan�s item number is hot.

Contemporary theme and serious execution is good. Technical and production values are very good.

What�s not!

Lack of entertainment and bad music by Vandemataram Srinivas (the song glorifying the hero is awful) are major negative points.

Bottom-line

Samanyudu does not come as winner nor it is a bad film. It�s just an okay film.
