I only liked in the film is Shreya acting and glamorous looks are awesome and shre rocks.

Movie says to eradicate black money. Then what about selling shivaji tickets in black any sense in that.
Before the movie release all the theaters are booked and is huge dissappointment who paid bigger price for better movie.

Finally Total waste of money. Other movies from Sankar are far better than this one.

The format of your reviews is well intended but it ends up revealing too much of the story. It kills the suspense element in the movie. You need to be able to write a review without too much of this. There was a comment made that the movie falls short of expectations - whose expectations is being referred here. Is it expectations from a Rajni film, Shankar film, expectations of fans - my point is there always has to be a reference point to compare with. A lot of Rajni's movies are of the pauper becoming a king story or an ordinary man attaining power story with minor changes here and there. So as far as this goes, there is not really new to expect, but the handling will be different based on each director and this is what makes a movie entertaining or unentertaining. So your statement about unmet expectations is vague. It would be good to see your reviews not reveal too much of the story

I watched the movie . It is very boring in the first half. comedy is not made for andhra audience. I think rajni did not work to his standards. Story telling of shankar falls very short. Regarding some of the scenes in the second half it is really unrealistic where rajni is dead for almost 30 minutes and after shock treatment to the heart comes back to life. It is absurd. No reality. Fights are good except like matrix fight no novelty.
Very average movie. Some of the tamil sentiments in the movie are not very natural for andhra audience

Writing such a review with elaborated story is not good for the Film Industry. Try to talk about the Actors performances, dances, music, direction but not the story. It would dampen the enthusiasm among the crowd. Just hide the story and give your review. Lets audience decide the fate of the movie.

Internet is a powerful media, dont take advantage of it and put your personal prejudices or your view to be revealed to the entire public which is highly unacceptable.

Why cant the review of 3 or 4 people would be put on the Site, instead of just one..because of which the entire review depends on a single individual...

I have not seen the movie yet. But, I do agree with the comments written about repition of stories by SHANKER. If you are taking from Gentleman, Indian, Nayak, Aparichitudu all are similar stories. But SHANKER has different kind of taking technique, because of which all movies are success. RAJINI always do wonders. Now a days in our telugu film industry it became a practice of spreading negative talk about others movies. This is not good for anyone.

Movie with its HYPE already succeed in
doing good business. SO WE HAVE TO AGREE THAT THIS IS A SUCCESSFUL MOVIE.
TC should review thier views once again before writing.

Hey I was just surfing and came over this review. I feel that this is one very bad review. Either the reviewer has very shallow opinions on the movie or he is just a plain idiot. I watched the movie in tamil and it was very good. I also think that more than half of you guys already do not have any good opinions abt this movie before going to watch it becos its a dubbed movie. And as for the guy who said Rajini is SAMBAR, go look at yourself in the mirror, u will see real sambar. Sivaji rocks!!!

One more thing, for those who repeatedly say that telugu films rock. Please note that there have been NO telugu films that have been dubbed into tamil and becom a superhit, however there are multiple TAMIL films that have been dubbed into telgu and become superhits!! So stop whining and watch the movie before making dumb comments. Remember Tamil Rocks, Andra REEKS!!!

Never get over expectations on any film, as you will sufer like this...

Rajini is not the superstar he once was, he should retire....

This move will definetly get record openings, but will be a cost failure.

Pokiri is and still is going to be the number one south indian film.

Rajini can try all he wants but he will not be south's numero uno hero again. That belongs to mahesh in the future.

AND at the END shivaji fails... it is nonsense on how much coverage this fil is getting. MY god, it isn't even a staright film. The tamilians never make money in TN, so they dubb films into AP, which is closely beind bollywood in money. Their are more screens for shivaji in AP than TN... that is a disrgarce to TN. For them 280 screens is a record. But for tollyood that was so lonf ago. EVEn agverage heroes like ravi teja get 300 screens *DUbai seenu*, and prabhas and allu arjun got 600, and 400 respectively. Tollywood will always be ahead of the tamil film industry. We make more money, and we dont dubb films using cheap methods to earn money. The producers are greedy fellows, so it is karma that they are going to fail....

Chiru has got more collections in his last few films than that of the combined toatl of rajnikanth in the last 5 years...

What does that tell you, the superstar is no more. He is a good human being, with luck.... but he can never be a legend.

I watched this movie, I'm basically a Kamal fan. But I loved this movie. It had everything in right mixture. I had fun felt relaxed and was happy at the end of the day to have watched such movie.(ticket was pricey though)
I don't totally agree with TC review. It is a complete entertainer and would defly would not get National award. But believe this would make the distributors and producers happy. I checked other sites like rediff etc..and they all claim as a good commercial. So lets see what TC reviwere has to say if it becomes a hit. By the way, Not a good ethic to let the public know of the story.(Be in Tamil, Hindi or Telugu) People might mistake that you are jealous of Tamil born movie director with Kannada born Hero getting more laurels. Being fair alone would help and I feel you have not been fair. I love Andhra and I surely love India more.

According to me i saw the preview in sathyam ...its the best theatre in chennai ...a multiplex a big theatre/..but was lacking is shouts from fans...what media is showing is totally lanned .........not evena single whistle...people started going out when songs coe....cool dialoges was sick finally...shankar was silent other than setting ...no good graphics...rajni was pathetic....in his costumes...overall it cant be rate more than 1 for 5...it shd be below average...try to put best comments then being a fan or stupid....Hats off to telugu cinema...and even idle brain has done a good job by giving 3...but i feel 2 shd be giving in idle brian...keep up ur reviews...its a real quality review...

The post-mortem of reviewer is not O.K since the movie is very good and the story line is so thin but very valuable message oriented like english movies. For a 50 rupees ticket, the entertainment given by Shanker is double O.K. His movies are guidlines like DAS CAPITAL to young directors. Rajnis style and mannerisams, A.R.Rahman's Music, Anand's Photography, Thotal Tharanis Art work, Suman's and Shreyas acting are dominating the film's script and make it a grand visual feast to the Audience. Kudos to the excellance of Shankar.

This is damn bad about this review. Giving review like this is not good. I had seen many reviews like this. these reviewers are not transparent.. they are much focussed on 1 or 2 members in telugu heroes which is not good.. and they are totally unfair to others..

Samy..you are mistaken...Shivaji is suffering a loss of 5-6 crores in AP alone...Sify.com has already published a report that it has failed in Andhra...In city crazy areas like Vijaywada...the movie is going at very slow fulls...talk genertaed i very poor..full of tamil flavour that has not attracted the Andhra audiences...In Devi 70 mm in Hyd, with this kind of hype generated, there is very little returns..just going full as per ordinary standards...same Shankar directed Aparchitudu...in Shanti Hyd in 2005 when relaesed in June, 1 show before double the capacity of the thaetre ..that many people were waiting outside the theatre without tickets...same on a Saturday ...that was the craze Vikram's Aparchitudu generated..sorry to say same Shankar directed Shivaji..there were people going at ordinary rate..nothing at all great

I have seen the tamil version here in UK as telugu was not released.
I have enjoyed the movie and over all it is a good entertainer and satisfactory film.My unbiased feeling is that it will be a blockbuster.
whatever the reviews may say the film will be seen by all moviegores and will be a sure HIT/SPERHIT in telugu and a definite BLOCKBUSTER in Tamil.
It is a treat for fans and masses. shankar's direction and rich taking ill draw A centre crowds while Rajini style will ensure crowd in other centres.
Overall I feel they should have trimmed the movie by about 15 mins. May be one song and one fight and some scenes could have been trimmed.The budget would have come done by about 10 Cr.Never the less did not get bored.
It is a paisa vasool movie! When movies like Munna and Desamuduru drew housefull corowds for a few weeks this one will go a lonway.
Music is a let down compared to other Shankar movies.Rajni has large fan base who will see the movie many times and common movie goer will definitely watch it once.In short go and watch it. You wont be disappointed.

Hey this review is somewhat true.i became rajanis fan after watching Bhasha.First half is very very boring with sreya and her family.Rajani is simply a joker in the first half of the film.He dont have any punch dialogues of his mannerism.Fights are also very very far from reality.Can a man of his personality beat 100 people(almost, when he blackmails suman and gets 100crores). Even in fights if rajani(hero,not personally rajani)mind power that could have been better.I think it is an overrated film and is average.but songs picturization for the songs sahara and vaaji are excellent.He looked venumadhav and MSnarayana(saalman raju from dubai seenu).

As some people said above there is logic missing in lot of scenes. The family comedy of Shriya may not be liked by all but mass will enjoy that.
They alos would enjoy Rajini's punch dialogues, Vivek's one liners, bald head style, tossing coin and above all the old songs where he imitates NTR,ANR in telugu and MGR ,Kamal in Tamil.
Rajini had to rely on lot of make up and his age was clearly visible.
But the bottom line is it entertains everyone. Although in many of his films Shankar comes out with unrealisitc ideas like beating up officails in "office room" etc but they provide good humour and entertainment. So that is the secret of his success.
Critics should one important point here. We all admire when James Bond does uunrealistic stunts only because it is foreign film! We enjoy it don't we? But when same thing is done by our heroes we laugh at it. Rajini's stunts in this movie, the car fights and where in a song the riffle shoots a bad guy and comes back to him in a circle may not be appreciated byall. But again mass and fans would love that. The movie has been made at James Bond level in second half. But they could have made the stunts shorter in lengthand the film would not appeared to have been dragged. First half is Good and second half is Very good. Overall it has all mass elements and a neat entertainer.
No doubt it is a blockbuster.COOL!

Although most of the story is revealed here it will not take away any gloss when you watch the movie. When your friends come back home after watching a new movie they reveal the entire story but would still recommend you to watch it. This movie is no exception.
You will enjoy it inspite of knowing what is going to happen. Most of the reviews on net nowadays are biased. So it is better to rely on talk form freinds who have seen the movie.

This is the waste movie of recent times... I saw it for 30 Euro ticket in Holland... Please return my money back...

The movie is really a fantastic one. There was a wonderful message in the flick. The Telugucinema revie says the movie has a weak script. That's a nonsense. The strength of the movie is its powerful script of black money which has never come before. Screenplay is the movie's strength. Hats off to Rajini and Shankar for a benevolent movie. My sincere request to TC is not to criticize for the sake of criticize. Sivaji is really a very good film with all ingredients, which are required for a film to have a big commercial success. I read the reviews from Rediff, Telugu websites and also tamil sites.

I observed only telugu websites are writing reviews with average where as tamil (Ofcourse they will), Rediff (who is genuine in critisizing) are writing that the movie is very good.

It seems that telugu websites (under the leadership of Chiranjeevi (Who is particularly scared of Rajni taking over the no.1 position in telugu which will happen definitely in coming years) and chiru batch dont want to promote the other Heroes from neighbouring states. It is very clear that these websites are moving in the wrong path. if the movie is good then they should write their opinion genuinely.

what all expected from "RAJNI & SHANKAR" combination, comes only at the end i.e, "GUNDU BOSS" get up that was amazing. songs are extraaaaaordinary, story is ok, comedy is good, everything is brilliant , but the problem is its duration of 3hrs, u can watch d picture not less than 2 times, bcoz 1st time for RAJNI & 2nd time for greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat SHANKAR SUUUUPER songs.

if u want to watch the movie . go and watch it is totally rajnis magic , wonderful settings in the songs and the a.r rahmans music . un fortunately THE MAGIC OF SHANKAR is missing who one of daring and great directors we have . shankar has not taken more care to the story line and screenply . but with rajni style u will able to forget everything and watch the movie .
