What’s it about!
Sai (Nani) is an orphan but happy go lucky person. He lives in different houses secretly when the owners go out. One day he meets a girl Savitri (Madhavi Lata), a runaway girl. Soon they develop a bond. The rest of the movie is about why Savtiri runs away from her home and how Sai helps her and wins her heart in the process.
Analysis
Director Satyam Bellamkonda has chosen (or copied) this simple story thread from Korean movie – 3 Iron (incidentally this same concept was used in Charmee’s 16 Days too). But the director has developed into a good friendship saga with neat narration. There is nothing novel in the movie but at the same time you don’t feel boredom. Director has tried to make the film in entertaining way despite not a sound script as basis. Nassar’s flashback lovestory with Apoorva is rather interesting. But again, the film doesn’t offer anything new. That is the big drawback. Music is the best part of the movie. All the songs by Shiv Shankar (of Priyamana Neeku) are good.
First half is okay but second half loses steam. On the whole it is okay.
Performances
Nani completely carries the film on his shoulders. He has proved himself as actor in Asta Chemma and Ride and this film strengthens his position. But he needs a little sophistication in his looks if he wants sustain in the field. Madhavi Latha is okay. She too has acting skills but needs better grooming. Naseer’s performance as a strict is rather impressive. Comedy by Brahmanandam is decent.
Among the technicians, it is music director Shiv Shankar scores the best. The title track is the best. Director Satyam Bellamkonda has good narrative skills but he should have taken care more in the comedy department.
Bottom-line
Snehituda is just an average film with some good episodes here and there. On the whole the movie is okay.
