Bapu might be out of sync in sculpting his characters and stories, but
still they do not pump any cheap commercial masala. Thats why K. Viswanath
once said "He makes sure that his movies don't do bad to society, though
they may or may not does serve good cause (that depends on viewers taste)".
I feel the classic trio KV, KB and Bapu stuck to that principle. I won't
mind spending few bucks to watch crap movie from the great directors rather
than mean commercial yet successful films.

Of course this movie is replica of Mutyala Muggu. Bapu has Ramayanam in his
weins... So you see shdeas of Ramayanam in his mivies. If his movies are a
copy or imitations of English movies... I wonder From which English movie
... Valmiki copied Ramayana....

cat.come on.dont be stupid and silly..do u have any idea abt mullapudi
venkataramana, the great telugu writer.he wrote that novel radhagopalm some
decades ago and u simply claim tha u are good enough obserever saying that

every movy and every scene wil hav an inspiration of its own.it doesnt mean
that one wil become a lesser person in character for drawing inspiration
from some where. people like bapu and ramana have been the source of
insipration for many people in AP AND india.SO HAD BETER BY APPALUADING AND
PRAISING THEIR intellectuality. stop criticizing them for their works like
sundarakanda, radhagopalam, rambantu or even pellikoduku,,,,,instead of
commenting that try to feel the aura surrounding mutyalamuggu, sampoorana
ramayanam, andalaramudu.or even sakshi..not to forget abt the world famous
seetakalyanam..longlive bapu...ramana

Ayya Kadapapuli & Mr.Ramesh,
Do you both seriously think to be deserving enough to comment on a living
legend like Bapu garu? I am amazed at his audacity. Please bear in mind
that even a multi-faceted genius like Da Vinci designed 400 plus what could
have been "impossible to build" prototypes for birdges, motors, air planes,
war weapons. A badly made movie is not a blot on Bapu's stature at all.

Guys,
How many times in a year do we get a chance to watch a clean, happy movie,
with our families, where you dont' have to hide behind coughs or bathroom
runs and pretend that the crass body language on screen is actually making
a complete jackass out of you? does it really matter where the idea came
from? isn't it more important that we can watch the movie with our children
and grandmothers with equal enjoyment? or are we all so addicted to item
songs and bare bodies that clean fun is no longer acceptable to our dirty
brains. or do we prefer to leave families out of our social cirlces? stop
this analysis guys, and sit back and see what it is that has made our
culture so strong for us to stand on - even if we think we are smart enough
to pass uneducated comments like this. jai bapu! jai ramana!

@Bapu CopyCat,
Your post shows you ignorance about telugu literature particularly about
the literature of legendary writer, Mullapudi.
Don't post comments just because you have access to a computer.

Dear Critics,
Art, Music, Lyrics, Photography, script and cast ...
Don't you see our Culture, tradition and Telugu in every aspect of
above all in every Bapu movie?

Dear Bapu fans association,
Please try to digest that Sundarakanda is a worst movie. No one in the
criticisers of the movie had spoken about the previous good movies of Bapu.
A director can keep his fame only if he maintains quality. Do you people
really feel that Sundarakanda is so called Bapu's quality film. Do Ganguly
retain place in cricket team because he made some wonders in past. Think
practically and to the context. Dont become crazy fans of single
individual. Nothing is branded in cinema.

I am completely stunned by some of the reviews here. I have seen people
enjoying "Harry Potter"/James bond which is nothing but "fiction" and adds
NOTHING to this society and no GOOD anyways. People consider meaningless
movies like Indra/simhadri/, EVV movies/ where the formula is traditional
"heroism" + skin showing + vulgarity, a big hit. In those respects I found
this movie a lot better. "Bapu" as a director keeps his screenplay and
thanks to the movies with aforementioned formula, he is deprived of
financial help and productive time!!!
I already see a lot of people who think talking in english and hating
"Indian" culture a big fashion.
I really don't mind what the "viewers" consider hit, though this movie
brings the same concept as in Mutyala Muggu, it is worth the viewing!

I have just now watched Bapu's Sundarakanda movie (Charmy)and realized that
it is a copy of the english movie "What a girl wants" 99% of the story line
has been lifted from this english movie. I was surprised and also
disappointed to see that talented artists like Bapu Garu copying story line
from English movies....

Are you crazy Anamika? How could you compare 'Sundarakanda' with 'what a
girl wants'? they are totally different. I have seen both the movies. How
dare anybody comment about Bapu's filmmaking! He is the only one who makes
good clean movies even in this generation.
Pallavi

Anamika is right, Sundarakanda movie is just a telugu remake of the english
movie "What a Girl Wants". Nothing offensive but, I was quiet disappointed
with director Bapu garu, after watching this movie.
