Analysis
After the success of
Mirapakay
, Ravi Teja is back with another mass entertainer,
Veera
. The film is only fine in parts wherever Ravi Teja is shown in a mass dimension. There is unnecessary violence and the screenplay is hackneyed. Director Ramesh Varma has chosen a plot that has enough material to hook the audiences but the narration is not strong enough to hold the audiences. The dialogues are raw and sounds as though they are forced on the audiences for the deliberate mass effect. It seems the film is purely targeted to B and C center audiences, so the movie is filled with heavy dose of glamor with Tapsee and Kajal competing each other to show off their body.
The film's best parts are the excellent cinematography and rich production values. In fact, the movie is shot very lavishly. Couple of songs especially the remix of Driver Ramudu and Veera Veera song are foot tapping. Any body that goes to a Ravi Teja film expects entertainment as most of his hits are sheer entertainers but the film heavily suffers on the front. Although Brahmanandam, Ali and Venu Madhav are present, they fail to provide decent comedy. Illogical script and poor comedy are big minus points to the film.
Performances
Ravi Teja
plays a role that has two shades. In the role of Veera, who revered as God by villagers, he shows his another facet as actor.
Kajal Agarwa
l is good as a village girl.
Tapsee
is not good in the movie and her role is not even properly etched out. Brahmanandam and Venu Madhav's comedy is routine. All other characters did their portions well, but many not synchronizing with the script. Dialogues by Parachuri Brothers and Abburi Ravi lack appeal.
Taman
has given foot-tapping tunes but his music doesn't help the movie, though. Gowtham Raju's editing is not crisp. However, cinematography is superb and production values are excellent.
Bottom-line!
Ravi Teja's
Veera
has rich production values and good cinematography. But illogical script and inconsistent narration have spoiled the show. It may appeal to B and C Center audiences.
