Every hero's dream is to get into that lucrative 'mass hero mould'. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has tried attempt with his latest film Vijaya Dasami, a remake of Tamil hit Shivakasi. It is completely designed to attract B and C Center audiences.

It will test your patience if you are looking for some quality entertainment and logic within the commercial frame. Though it is not aimed at class audiences, it doesn't make us feel that it is a complete masala film either, heavy action scenes and a dose of mother and sister sentiment not withstanding. A very predictable formula film directed shoddily by V Samudra.

Sivakasi (Kalyan Ram) lives in Hyderabad. He meets a rich young girl and their acquaintances and mischief act leads to romance. When her father asks Sivakasi to bring his parents for marriage, it is revealed that he is on exile. During his childhood, his brother blasts crackers which lead to the death of a lady in the village but he puts blame on Sivakasi. His father punishes him for it and banishes him from staying the village. Since then he has been living in Hyderabad. When Sivakasi heads for his village now, his father passes away, his mother and sister live in miserable conditions due to his brother Durga (Sai Kumar) who is now MLA. The rest of the film is how Sivakasi teaches his brother a lesson.

Kalyan Ram dons different getup in this film. His performance is good but the long hair has not suited him well. Vedika is okay. Sai Kumar in negative role is apt. Senior actors Jaya Sudha, Suman, Brahmanandam have done their job well. Technically, only cameraman Ram Prasad work and action choreographer Stun Shiva is appreciable.

Music by Srikanth Deva is a big minus. Do we call them songs? What Samudra has done in the film is just re-shooting the Tamil version. Copy and Paste. Dialogues by Parachuri Brothers are anything by clap worthy.

Bottom-line

The film can only be saved by B and C Center audiences.
