Though Chiranjeevi enjoyed the number one position in Tollywood for many years, Balakrishna was also there to give him stiff competition. Balakrishna was nearest competitor and challenged several times Chiru's position with massive blockbusters. Yet, they remained good friends despite fans of both stars made ruckus, proclaiming supremacy of their respective stars.

Bala is just Bala: Chiru

Now everything has changed. Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi are now in political arena and they are not hesitating to compete directly. Recently Chiranjeevi termed Balakrishna as a child. "He has child's mentality, we should not take him serious," Chiru said.

Naa Rendo Vaipu Choodu: Balayya

Balakrishna now directly attacks on Chiranjeevi saying he sold his party for money. "A guy termed me as a kid. But he has not seen the other side of me. Wait for that. He sold his party for money and dreaming of becoming Chief Minister. He is pigmy in front of my father NTR, who was selfless."

Friends turned foes

It is true that they were competitors in movie field, but they remained friends. Even during the last general elections, both Balakrishna and Chiru refrained from making any comments on each other. Now, Balakrishna and Chiru are indulging in verbal war and flaring up another war between their respective fans clubs.

Balakrishna's political plans

Until now, Balakrishna stuck to campaigning for Telugu Desam party. He has now decided to contest in the forthcoming general elections. In 2014, Balayya would be contesting from one of the Assembly Constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.
