Hyderabad police busted another racket in Tollywood. Days after rocket of several actors’ involvement in drugs hit the headlines; police caught two actresses Jyothi and Saira Bhanu red-handed doing prostitution. They were arrested along with a woman from Uzbekistan and their customers from an apartment in the upscale Kundan Bagh, close to Minister’s Quarters, in Hyderabad.
The
police have not revealed the identity of the other arrested but sources
have not ruled out involvement of some rich and famous in the racket. The Commissioner's Task Force raided the apartment in the early hours of Monday on specific information.
Interestingly, Jyothi shot to fame with her role of a call girl in
Pellam Oorelthe.
And later did pivotal roles in several films including
Gudumbha Shankar, Hungama
and
Mahatma.
She married an NRI in Dubai two years ago and stopped acting in films for a year. Then she returned to Hyderabad last year and reasoned for her entry that her husband allowed continuing acting. Now she caught in prostitution.
Saira Bhanu started her career as TV anchor and did films like
100 Kotlu, Anaganaka Okaroju, Araynam,
etc.
Police are now investigating further the links between these stars and drug peddlers also.
