1.JALSA was released in 1000 THEATERS and not with 1000 PRINTS.....please check wid ur sources.....

2.JALSA release in 1000 theaters is also a hyped figure by ALLU ARVIND....bloated out jus' in order to extract maximum mileage for JALSA...but logically that much hype is not even required for a pawan kalyan movie as from the past seven years he has been experiencing a sort of quatitative uproar as far as telugu films openings are concerned...and he has been undisputably way ahead among all other heroes as far as openings r concerned...even mahesh babu ,the present heart throbe of telugu films will modestly agree with it.....so with that hype of releasing the film in 1000 THEATERS IN THE PEAK OF SUMMER SEASON WHERE RELEASE OF OTHER FILMS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED FOR MAY,,,,JALSA EXTRACTED TREMENDOUS OPENINGS.

3.there is helluva difference between number of prints and number of theaters....normally a print can be distributed between number of theaters...hence for all, making the total number of prints to be quintessentially less than that of the theaters....hence if at all JALSA WOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED IN 1000 theaters ,which in all probability is only about 650 theaters....the number of prints of JALSA would stand anywhere between 270 to 300....that is the story of JALSA...

4.coming to kathanayakudu....this extreme case of bloating things about number of prints to 1200 makes about 2200 theaters which logically is impossible for a tamil film+telugu film combined....it is jus' a classical case of misinterpreting wid peoples imagination and to create a double business revenue for RAJNI'S next MAGNUM OPUS...ROBOT....

As you said, the print count should be around 700.

In fact, for Dasavatharam they had made 1200 prints, which included hindi prints too. But due to some minunderstadnings, they haven't been able to release the movie in hindi yet.
Another 30-40 crores business for hindi is awaiting the already super hit movie.

Again, you know our producers( both telugu and tamil) know how to hype up figures and give false data just to satisfy our blind fans.

but what truly amazes me is how tamil films get unabashedly bloated up from the time of production costs...to the number of prints...to the number of collections/openings....see everything is bloated...SIVAJI IS A CLASSICAL EXAMPLE....producers claim that it has made a total revenue of 250 crores.....OH GODDD.....how can they reel out paper statistics like that and what is their logic ....it is incomprehensible to my small mind.....but the underlying thing is SIVAJI is a commercial failure in telugu but for the openings..... and in tamil even though it extracted maximum revenue in cities it fared average in B&C centers.....

Dasavatharam's 1200 print release to me sounds 100% logical.

They have made more number of prints than sivaji for the very fear that, in case, the movie fails to live up to the expectations, the opening and the intial collections atleast would salvage the film cost. And you know, Oscar Ravichandran is a marketing wizard. Well its your choice to believe it or not, but nowadays the mantra doing rounds is to collect the maximum amount in minimum time.

Again the classic example here is sivaji. It wasn't a great succes in telugu, but the hype and print count made sure the film opened with earth shattering openings and became a safe bet to the AP distributors. Calling Sivaji a commertial failure is definetley a joke my dear friend.
It was an avg hit in AP, but a historical blockbuster in TN.

To my best approximations, the films should have collected 150 crores overall, and not 250 cr as said my fanatic fanatic fanatic rajni fans (don't know what they get in return of such figures).

The telugu and tamil movie market is pretty much the same. There are more telugu movie audiences than tamil movie audiences in India, but then Tamil movies have a far better reach overseas due to the significance presence of tamil diapora in Canada, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka ..compared to telugu overseas market. And those collections come in US dollars and UK pounds and that makes a big difference.

And Dasavatharam is all set to break the 100 cr barrier. This is a fact. Not a bloated figure.
