Top director S S Rajamouli recently said that he has decided to direct Mahesh Babu, though not informing when he'd start the movie given the fact he's busy till the end of 2013 with his prior commitments.
Not mentioning any hero's name, he sought opinion from his followers on twitter as to whether they'd like to see a patriotic film ala Superstar Krishna's Alluri Seetaramaraju (1974). Looks like the reaction from his followers was totally negative for the idea of remake of Alluri Seetaramaraju and instead they urged to make a slick action entertainer like Mission Impossible or James Bond Movies.
He posted his opinion on twitter: "I am surprised that so many people don't want the story of Alluri to be made again. It is not that I've decided to make it, but it is depressing to see the disinterest of the people. James Bond scores over our history. Hope this is limited only to films."
He further added that he is totally against the idea of making movies like Mission Impossible. "The problem with stylish movies is we are bombarded with Bond, MI, Transporter series movies and scores of other Hollywood action flicks regularly. So, we should make films that hinge on emotion, as they are our strength."
He reasons: "How much ever I try I cannot dream of making anything like them (Hollywood filmmakers) and after watching those films audience would be disappointed with ours."
Rajamouli concludes that he would take further time before deciding the subject. "Whatever I choose I'll try not to disappoint you when you sit in the theater and watch it," he promises.
