Tamil superstar Rajnikant and South India’s number one director Shankar’s magnum opus - Robot has already set new record in Tollywood for a dubbed movie. A little knwon distributor from Godavari districts has snapped the film for a whopping Rs 27 Crores sans Satellite rights. Any which way you look, it is a huge gambling to buy a dubbed movie for such an exorbitant price. But surprise, surprise! His gamble seems to be paying off. A leading distributor in Nizam area has offered to buy the movie for the territory for about Rs 10 Crores. Which is almost more or equal to a big Telugu star’s film. If it really happens, Tollywood bigwigs would be in big shock knowing that a dubbed movie is being bought for a price almost equal to their big movies.
If this ratio continues, the Telugu version’s producer would be going all the way to the back. Let’s see what happens. Robot is confirmed for September 23 release worldwide.
