After the super success of the costume caper Arundhati in early 2009, another semi-periodic film is making waves in Tollywood.

The much-hyped, big ticket flick Magadheera (starring Ram Charan Tej and Kaajal) has opened to fabulous first week collections and seems all set to re-write box office records. The film has already grossed Rs 20 crore in the first week of its release with approximate region-wise break-up being Nizam (Rs 7crore), Rayalaseema (Rs 5 crore) and Andhra (Rs 8 crore) and is being screened in 1000-odd theatres all over the state. An overjoyed Ram Charan says it will �take more time (for the success) of the film to completely sink in. I can attribute the film�s success to every member of the 200-odd strong unit and wouldn�t like to say I am the sole factor responsible for the box-office returns of the film. It has been a team effort.�

The Rs 40-crore extravaganza, claims the young heartthrob is �a wonderful gift� from his uncle and producer Allu Arvind.

Filmmaker Rajamouli says he�s �truly happy since our hard work has been rewarded. The success is attributed to me and Charan but I would like to share it with all my technicians to made this magnum opus possible.�

Earlier this year, producer Shyamprasad Reddy�s Arundhati became the highest grosser overseas (notching up Rs 3 crore plus) besides garnering Rs 30 crore within the country. Before this, Jalsaa, starring Ram Charan�s uncle and actor Pawan Kalyan held the record for the largest opening collection (Rs 16 crore) by a Telugu film, followed by Rajamouli�s Yamadonga which garnered Rs 13 crore.

The first week of initials of all-time top grossers of Tollywood like Pokiri (Rs 8 crore) and Kick (Rs 11 crore) had a steady beginning before hitting the BO jackpot by gradually adding more theatres and prints to cater to their growing popularity.

Producer M S Raju who made big bucks with films like Okkadu and Varsham feels �glad that the audience is encouraging novel themes and fresh backdrops.�

For now big budget period films seem to be the BO flavour this year, until a small films proves otherwise.

Arya 2 has collected a share of 6.5 crores in Nizam when the producer recalled prints. It was bought for 5.5 crores and distributed on sharing basis with Dil Raju in Nizam area. Hence, Arya 2 made profits by the time of recall in Nizam.

Except for Ceded and Nellore, the producer has retained the movie and had not sold it to anybody. The budget of this movie is around 21 crores. Arya 2 is expected to collect at least 3 crores for new year and Sankranthi season since no other big movie is going to release in the next couple of weeks. The producers are going to get around 7 crores from overseas collections, satellite rights, remake/dubbing rights (Kerala rights are sold for 95 lacs).

Made with the budget of 21 crores, the producer is going to have a profit of at least 4-5 crores on Arya 2 movie. It is quite an achievement for a movie released with divide talk and struggled with political turmoil. It has become a habit for Allu Arjun movies to get bad talk first and then turn into hits (It happened with Desa Muduru and Parugu too). On a whole, Arya 2 entertained people and it is a hit flick!

Story: Do not expect anything new.
Performance: Jr.NTR- Excelled in 'Chary' role.
Looking good on screen after loosing weight, and costumes suited well.
Songs are highlight of the movie. All are wrapped up beautiful except 'where is the panchekattu'
Chary and Bhattu (Brahmanandam) are the only saving faces in the movie.
As usual DSP gave very good music which actually can save the movie.
NTR dances are excellent.
Nayanatara looks gorgeous than Shiela in the movie.
The story is very old (like from 1980's kinda...)


Final point: Songs are excellent to hear and to watch
Jr.NTR looking handsome and danced well
some comedy scenes are nice, but irritating sometimes.
Story is same old melody drama, where one kid was taken away from twins. And how they met each other and find out their real parents...blah....blah
