Nandamuri BalaKrishna’s latest sensation ‘Simha’ took the box office by storm. It is running to packed houses every where - Return crowds, black tickets and extra theatres have become a common phenomenon across the state, leaving no exceptions in any area. The last superhit from BalaKrishna was ‘LakshmiNarasimha’ way back in 2004 which was the biggest hit of 2004. After a long wait, BalaKrishna is back with a bang.

He once again proved his capability in powerful oriented mass roles by pulling of an phenomenal success with a pretty average story line. His performance especially in the title role of Simha in second half is making his die hard fans go gaga and in many scenes, he reminded Legend NTR. He portrayed a Role of ‘Larger than life Heroism’ and that is what making wonders at Box office.

As the first week ends, this movie has already begun its way on to become the one of the superhit movie of the Telugu Cinema Industry.  The first week collections across the globe reiterate the same. The movie opened to thunder openings due to a lot of positive buzz in the trade/industry circles. Also, the Theatrical trailer deserves worth mentioning which generated enormous pre release hype. The movie took off to a flying start on the first day, the shows first starting from Kuwait, London and then A.P. The movie has collected unprecedented amounts in the first 3 days making it a safe venture due to the unanimous positive talk it generated right from the word Go. In most of the areas the buyers were into profit zone by Tuesday (5th day), which is a special note to mention for a high budget film like this. Industry peers and young heroes have twitted about the movie and its success.

Contrary to the Critics points that movie has excessive violence, still movie is running extremely well in all A, B and C centers which indicates that ‘Entertainment is what matters to the Common audience’ and the huge number of ladies in the serpentine crowds reiterate the same. MASSES MAKE A MOVIE SUCCESS - Andhra loves spicy food and it ignites enzymes to make the blood boil. Sky is the limit if a movie gels well with Masses - And yes this is happening with SIMHA. In some of the cities/towns like Guntur, Nellore, Vishakhapatnam, Kurnool etc, the movie is selling black tickets varying from 100-500Rs even on the 6th day.

Coming to the collections, let’s start with Guntur District, where the buyers were into the safe zone literally on 4th day. First week expected share is around 2 crores from this single district, where the previous highest for any movie is 1.8Cr. This once again proves the positive mouth talk generated for this movie, without which it is not possible to get such a huge figure in just 7 days span. Then next in line is Ananthapur district, where right from the first show, the movie had carried a unanimous superhit talk, forcing the buyer to screen Simha in extra theatres replacing a movie that is already running. In Ananthapur district, the movie amassed a sum of around 1.3Cr in the first week, where it was bought for 80Lkhs. Same is true with other districts like West Godavari, East Godavari and Krishna districts. In Utharandhra region (which comprises of 3 districts), the theatres has been witnessing a huge crowd thronging to the theatres, which forced the theatre owners to give advance bookings, ahead for a week. And coming to Nellore, it’s the same situation over there as well; advance booking - NO current booking :)

And in Nizam, especially in Hyderabad city, the movie is running to packed crowds across 30+ theatres in second week. Coming to Balayya’s bastion Rayalaseema, in each city/town/village SIMHA crossing earlier Balakrishna’s records the first week itself. In some areas, it surpassed the full run of previous movies in the first week itself.

This movie turned out to be career turning point movie for director Boyapati Srinu who became a hot property overnight. Also, Nandamuri BalaKrishna again proves that he is the darling of the masses.

Going by the current talk and trend, the collections graph is projected to go higher, that too the season being summer in India. Another thing that has to be specially mentioned is the production cost of this movie. In the last few years, the movie production costs have gone very high, but the producer and director of Simha extracted wonderful output with minimal budget. One thing that’s confirmed - For sure SIMHA will be one the biggest ROI(Return of Investment) movie in TFI. This means, this movie is poised to make profits by 2-3 time in comparison to its investment. Good signs to the industry!
