Deepika Padukone back in Rajnikanth's film

Deepika Padukone who was to play with Rajnikanth in his now defunct, Rana, is set to romance with the superstar again. Rajinikanth fell ill on the very first day of the shoot of Rana in April last year, and he took rest for 10 months. So Rana was called off. Meanwhile, his daughter Soundarya planned another film with Rajnikanth titled Kochadaiyaan and approached Deepika to play the female lead but Deepika refused to do so, citing the reason of non-availability of her dates.
The producers then approached Katrina Kaif for the same role for the film being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It was said Katrina Kaif almost confirmed her dates.
But in a sudden twist, Deepika made herself available for the film and adjusted her dates (as she walked out from a Bollywood film). The film's director Soundarya happily tweeted: "Deepika padukone confirmed to play appa's pair in Kochadaiyaan :) great to have you back with us.. big hug!"
The film is being touted as India's first performance capture photo realistic film.
