Luxury multiplex, Escape by Satyam Cinemas, has opened to public today (August 23, 2010) in Chennai. The multiplex is owned by L V Prasad family members. The state of the art eight-screen luxury multiplex has around 1300 seats. Six screens have 117 to 122 seats, while two are big and have 300 plus seats. Each of the eight screens are designed and inspired by a theme. They have been designed by the world famous California based theatre interior decorator Giovanni Castor and our own Chennai based designer Vikram Phadke. The screens have been given catchy names which will go with the theme and interior design of the screen- Blush, Weave, Spot, Streak, Plush, Frame, Carve and Kites. For example Blush, have a women’s theme and many things they cherish. Carve is inspired from classical Indian woodwork seen in ancient Hindu architecture. Kites has 1800 cloth kites all over the auditorium.
Another major highlight of Escape is that there is no projector room. All the cinemas are fitted with 3D screens, with the Hollywood studio approved DCI specifications. The screens are equipped with four way speakers. The multiplex has Flip, the library area where you can go through periodicals and paperbacks while you wait for your show to start. It has also a massage centre and play station.
In short, Escape is the last word in luxury, and is a fine movie going experience.
