Dont you think these long-gaps dont do well for your career?
Yes, I agree but it was not planned as such, it just happened. I will do two films a year from now onwards.
What kind of movies you intend to do at this stage of your career?
I think it is the time that we move towards realistic cinema and approach for newer themes. I recently liked
Dev D in Hindi, I believe we can do such kind of films. Not losing the commercial ingredients, we can do better movies with better scripts than this formulaic films. I am looking for such scripts.
Your Annapoorna Studios and your very own SS Creations is known for introducing maverick directors like Ram Gopal Varma and also produced some good movies like Jaitra Yatra, Ninne Pelladutha, in the past. But in the recent times, we hardly find any such good talent coming from your banners.
See, directors like Ram Gopal Varma come only once in a lifetime. It is not that we are not meeting new directors and listening them but we hardly find such great talent. Even now, my uncle Nag and my sister Supriya are constantly meeting the younger directors and writers.
How do you face competition from home turf in the form of Sushanth, Naga Chaitanya?
There is no competition as such among us. For every four or five years, new heroes come and it is very natural. Each one will have their space here. I am sure that Sushanth and Naga Chaitanya from our family will also make bright career. They have talent and will definitely have long career.
Is there any chance of working with them?
As of now, we dont have any plans. Let them establish their own careers. If we get some good scripts that have scope to work with them, I am game for it.
Why it that you hardly seen in film functions and in media happenings other than when your movie releases. Why are you so reclusive?
I am not that so reclusive as you are making out. If there is one guy in Tollywood who so is reclusive it is ought to be Mahesh Babu. No one can beat him on that front. Well, I dont come to film functions or any thing because I believe that stars should not expose frequently. If we were seen in media and public life daily, why would audiences take interest in us? Apart from that I have very limited friends and I do interact with them.
You also not that freely interact with media?
I may look like standoffish guy but I am not.
Will you turn producer on your own?
I have plans of producing good, qualitative movies but everything will be done on our respective banners.
There is a rumor that you are going to get married this year with some NRI girl?
I read the same gossip on the websites but they are not true. I am not marrying anyone.
Whats happening on personal front?
I tell you, if there is really happening something, I will share with you guys. I wont hide my marriage. As of now, I am single. Dont believe such rumors.
