Newcomers making entry into Tollywood is nothing new. But rarely does one get the chance to romance an established actress in his first film, and the lucky debutant is Muralikrishna who is paired opposite Bhumika in Mallepuvvu. He always wanted to be an actor and did brief role in Ramesh varma's Oka Oorilo. I met him at that time and since then, I have been in touch with him from time to time through Ramesh Varma. I had known his dream to make it big, and it's a pleasure to be interviewing him as a hero today!

NaChaKi: What's your background? How did you step into the glitter world of films?

Muralikrishna: I come from a very ordinary middle-class family. I wanted to become a hero by my dad's desire. It's also because of my friends' inspiration that I finally became a hero today! It's tough to become a hero these days. I strived hard, appeared in a key role in Oka Oorilo..., waited for four years, and finally I was lucky enough to be chosen for Mallepuvvu!

NaChaKi: You have Bhumika for your co-star and the great maestro Ilayaraja for your music director in your debut film! Would you be willing to work with newcomers subsequently?

Muralikrishna: It's only by luck that I have big names like Bhumika and Ilayaraja attached to my debut film! I never expected such a chance for my first venture as a hero! ...And, I'd surely work with newcomers, since I am one myself!

NaChaKi: What are the kind of roles that you want to do?

Muralikrishna: A hero should do all kinds of roles! And, I am new here. I strongly believe that story is the only hero, if one must have a stable stand in this field! I'd be ready to do any role for anyone that comes to me with a good story and wants to make a movie!

NaChaKi: It's heard that big production houses and directors are approaching you already!...

Muralikrishna: It's true that big production houses have brought proposals. Like I already said, I'd do a film even for a new production house if I am impressed by the story! Two films are in the pipeline but it's too early to reveal more details.

NaChaKi: What're your expectations on the film Mallepuvvu?

Muralikrishna: I liked it right when I heard the story! After I've been roped into the project, I was waiting on the edge of my seat for a year and a half for the actual production to start! I was indeed eagerly waiting to don such a role! At the end of all of it, I am surely a happy man now! The film has definitely shaped up beyond my expectations!

NaChaKi: What're your favorite pastimes?

Muralikrishna: I sleep a lot. Or, I watch the television. Sometimes, I prefer listening to songs in a soft volume. I, of course, watch films! And, who doesn't enjoy with friends! I have a lot of friends, in fact!

NaChaKi: How conversant and current are you with Telugu film websites or the WWW (Internet) in general? Do you follow all the various websites?

Muralikrishna: I actually follow all film websites! I vist www.metacafe.com frequently. I look for new games. Like everyone else, I find Google for more new stuff.

NaChaKi: Which heroes and heroines do you like? Which hero is your inspiration?

Muralikrishna: In Telugu, I like Balakrishna and Sreekanth. I also watch Hindi and English films, but there's no one in particular that I like - I just watch any film regardless of the hero. Among heroines, I like Nayanatara and Anushka.

NaChaKi: Are there any directors that you want to work with in particular?

Muralikrishna: If I get a chance, I'd love to work with Krissnavamsi gaaru and V.V. Vinayak gaaru. Krissnavamsi gaaru brings in a great style in portraying his heroes, and it's a great help to new artistes like me! He's a highly creative director, of course! I know Vinayak gaaru for some time now. He defines "mass" in his own stride! ...All others are good too - each one has one's own style of execution and presentation indeed!
