Remember Happy Days, and Rahul who had a huge impact as Tyson? He has now graduated as a lead actor from playing one of the leads. In VN Aditya's Rain Bow, he will be acting as the lead hero. Rahul tells us about his films, future plans and lot more....

What is Rain Bow all about?

It’s a love story with an amazing story line. I can vouch that so far no one has dealt with this kind of story on Telugu screen. Sindhu Menon, Sonal Chauhan and I play in lead, but its not a triangular love story.

Can you tell us more about your character?

Independent, loving and carefree is what my character is in this film. This is very close to what I am in real life.

From lead roles you graduated to lead actor, how was the experience?

Actually I see no major difference. Just that I feel more matured now and since Happy Days, I have gained more weight. I believe that an actor in actor irrespective of the length of the role. In Rain Bow, the script is so powerful that there is no chance that any actor will have the film completely on his/her shoulders.

For me acting is not money making venture. I am here because I love acting. I am looking for creative satisfaction and gradual progression. Honestly I am not looking for becoming a big star with a single movie. I don't find any difference playing a single hero film or multi-heroes movies.

Actors of Happy Days are now competing with respective movies in a few days...

It’s nice actually. We all got good offers, but I don’t think we are thinking it as competing. Its a coincidence that some of our films - Ankit Pallavi Friends (stars Nikhil), Rain Bow and Call Cnetre (stars Vamsi) are getting released same time.

What do you have to say about director V N Aditya?

He is like family to me now. I lost my father, to whom I was very closely attched just
before the shooting began. It came as a blow to me and my family. It was hardtime for me and then it was V N Aditya sir who stood by me. He infused into me all the confidence that i needed. He will always be close to me.

Differences between working styles of Aditya and Sekhar Kammula?

Happy Days was my first film. I rarely interacted freely with Sekhar, although he made us feel at ease. I was nervous you could say. With V N Aditya sir its different feeling altogether. I am more relaxed. He has taught me everything from script to my behavior in the industry. Apart from this I really can’t pinpoint any other difference; I don’t think that I am that experienced to do the same.

How did you do steamy romantic scenes with Sonal Chauhan, you seem to be shy?

[Laugh] Oh yeah, I was very uncomfortable. By the way there is no steam and all. They are romantic scenes. We hit of well as we are of the same age and good friends. Sonal, Sindhu and I are good freinds now.

Which is you favourite song in the film?

Let me tell about the music before I talk on my favorite.  Nihal's scores are fantastic. He is making his debut and for this film music is the backbone. Many have already appreciated the music already, and it will surely be liked by all when on screen. And my favourite is "Manasa Chalinchaka".

Future plans?

Undecided as of now...
