Fresh from the positive response for his
Gunde Jhallumandi, Uday Kiran promises to continue present good films from now onwards. He says his latest release,
EkaLOVEyudu, slated for Dussera release, would put him back on the glory. In a chitchat with TC.com, he talks about the movie.
After a long gap, you came with two films – Gunde Jhallumandi and EkaLOVEyudu in succession. How do you feel?
Gunde Jhallumandi gave me much needed relief and encouragement to my career. I got very positive response from the audiences after such a long time. It is nice to hear compliments again. More than its commercial success and revenues,
Gunde Jhallumandi gave me confidence and public appreciation. And
EkaLoveyudu is right film to follow this movie.
Tell us about EkaLoveyudu
I liked the script narrated by KRK and immediately said yes to it. It was three years ago but it materialized only when Medikonda Murali Krishna came forward to produce it after liking the narration.
EkaLOVEyudu doesn’t boast of complete novel storyline but the treatment is definitely trendy and very unique. KRK has presented the movie so engrossingly that today’s audiences would love it so much. I play a very simple character but the characterization created by the director is interesting.
Why this title?
Ekalavya, the character in Mahabharata, is hugely popular and he is known for determination and devotion. Likewise, the hero does anything to keep his promise and that for his love. Hence we coined the term EkaLOVEyudu by putting Love in the title. It sounds same as Ekalayudu but adding love in it changes the meaning. The title sums of the film.
How is it different from your previous love stories?
As I said, it doesn’t stress on the ‘story’, the narration is completely different from the run of the mill romantic dramas. Intensity in the script, and the emotions that are carried out well would be highlights in the move.
You have been raving about the music. Which song that you liked most?
Anil Krishna’s music has already been hugely popular and I am sure that it will catch like a fire after the movie’s release. His score is backbone to the movie. I like all the songs.
Tell us about the director and producer?
If you notice, the film’s team is complete young batch. Our producer Medikonda Amar Chand is full of ideas and knows that these kind of films require lot of money and patience and he has provided everything for us. KRK is brilliant director, he would be in top league after its release. He is passionate towards his craft and films.
Can we expect a sequel for any of your movies?
I don’t thinks so. Sequels work better for thrillers and action movies where as most of movies are romantic dramas.
Are you ready to do guest roles?
Definitely. Some directors also approached me but things have not worked out. Personally I like the characters what Jagapati Babu in Anthapuram and Karthik in Mouna Ragam did. If I am offers such roles, I would love to do them.
