Vijayendra Prasad and Ilaiyaraaja get nominated to Rajya Sabha

Iconic music composer maestro Ilaiyaraaja and ‘Baahubali’ writer Vijayendra Prasad were nominated to Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

The President of India nominates noted personalities to Rajya Sabha whenever vacancies take place in the nominated category. Athlete P T Usha and Dharmasthala temple Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade were also nominated to the Upper House of Parliament.

Ilaiyaraaja aka Ilayaraja holds the record for composing music for more than 1400 movies in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Marathi languages. Considered one of the all-time greatest composers ever in Indian film music, Ilaiyaarajaa has fans all over the world.

He is currently composing a movie for a Telugu film starring Naga Chaitanya.

Vijayendra Prasad is the highest-paid screenwriter with blockbusters to his credit. He wrote scripts for his son Rajamouli’s movies including ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’. Vijayendra Prasad also penned scripts for Bollywood hits like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Manikarnika’.
