Analysis

Pradeep Machiraju, a popular Telugu TV personality, in his debut as a lead hero, has selected a weird script. The film is written and directed by debutant Munna.

Instead of the usual card as ‘written and directed by’, Munna takes the credit as ‘conceived and crafted by’. What did he conceive? Well, he has taken the basic plot of several reincarnation-themed movies (mainly from Allari Naresh and Sada starrer Praanam) to switch it into the body of the ‘body-swap’ themed genre. In other words, the director didn’t ‘conceive’ anything but rehashed two movies – Pranaam (2003), and It’s Boy Girl Thing (2006) and ‘crafted’ as ’30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela’.

Perhaps not satisfied with lifting these two stories, he also copies a crucial scene of Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’.

Plagiarism aside, does it make any interesting to watch? The less said about the better. Thirty minutes into the film, we know that the director’s amateur narrative skills would put into a test of patience. The director and his team of writers have come up lousiest scenes. The main part of the story is set in an Engineering college, and the college jokes are dated.

The situation deteriorates further when the lead actors in their switched identities do all kinds of nonsensical acts in the name of comedy.

Pradeep Machiraju in his debut attempt has attempted dual roles. He is energetic but his characterization is silly. Amritha Aiyer who recently played one of the female leads in Ram Pothineni starrer ‘Red’ fails to impress. She goes overboard when she tries to act like a man.

The viral song, ‘Neeli Neeli Aakasam’ is the best part of this movie. The song is filmed beautifully. The camerawork is good.

Bottom-line: ‘30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela’ is told with silly college jokes, has lousy writing.
