Kamal Haasan had acted in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam thriller ‘Drishyam’ and it was released with the name of ‘Papanasam’. Now, ‘Drishyam 2’ came out and the Telugu remake of this sequel has already been wrapped up.
Director Jeethu Joseph filmed it in just 45 days. The ‘Drushyam 2’ (Telugu) will premiere on an OTT platform. Venkatesh had pushed other projects to complete this film.
Now, Jeethu Joseph wants to take up the Tamil version with Kamal Haasan. But Kamal Haasan wants certain changes in the casting of ‘Papanasam 2’. In the original Tamil version of ‘Drishyam’, Gautami, Kamal Haasan’s then live-in partner, had played the role of his wife. Six years later, the situation has been changed. Kamal and Gautami broke up and Kamal Haasan wants Meena or another actress to step in Gauatmi’s place.
Will Jeethu Joseph agree to this? Only if the casting is altered, Kamal Haasan may take up ‘Papanasam 2’. Or he will focus on Shankar’s ‘Indian 2’ and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Vikram’.
