Sulthan: First big flop for Warangal Srinu

Sulthan

Distributor Warangal Srinu made headlines when he leveled allegations against Dil Raju and Sirish. He accused them of trying to kill Ravi Teja starrer ‘Krack’ by not giving enough screens in Telangana.

Srinu had distributed ‘Krack’ in Telangana. After Srinu’s allegations, Dil Raju was forced to allot more screens to the film. It went to become the first blockbuster in 2021.

Buoyed by the response to Krack, Warangal Srinu has snapped distribution rights of several films that include ‘Naandhi’ and ‘Seetimaar’. He also bought the distribution rights of Karthi starrer for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. He reportedly paid Rs 7 Crore to get the rights.

Sulthan, however, has bombed. The film is struggling to attract the audience. ‘Sulthan’ will not have any chances at the box-office once Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Vakeel Saab’ hits the screens this Friday. So, Warangal Srinu will end up losing about Rs 4 crore on this investment.

It is the first major disaster for the young distributor in the two states. He also bought ‘Sreekaram’ for Nizam, which also flopped.
